UNHCR New Camps in Lower Dir and Buner

In the camp management sector there is a mixed picture of ongoing return, closure and decommissioning of camps on the one hand and the establishment of new camps in lower Dir and in Buner on the other. The new camps are in response to either new displacements or to accommodate people set to vacate schools in Lower Dir. Humantarian agencies continue to assist people with shelter and other relief items in the displacement areas.A month into the goverments formal return program which began on 13 july, a total of 9 camps have been closed. UNCHR has been working in the first six of camps while the remaining three were administrated by other agencies or individuals.
