Welfare and Senator Mrs. Kulsoom Perveen, Chairperson, Standing Committee on
Health, have very kindly accepted to grace the occasion as the Guests of
honor. Among the key participants include; Members of the National Assembly,
Senators, Secretary, Ministry of Population Welfare, senior government
officials from other relevant ministries/departments, representatives of
Non-Governmental Organizations and civil society organizations, and UN
colleagues.
The conference is a follow-up meeting to SAARC Parliamentarians Conference
held in Kathmandu at the end of July 2009. The Pakistan mission was led by
the Federal Minister for Population Welfare. The key objective of the
conference includes sharing the findings and plan of action concluded during
the SAARC Parliamentarians Conference with the policy-makers, decision
makers, opinion leaders and the representatives of the media.
