Construction of 500 Flats under PM Housing Scheme

PM TO INAUGURATE THE GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY. KAKAR
Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) has signed an agreement with a local construction company for construction of 500 flats/apartments in Karachi under Prime Minister’s Housing  Programme.

Managing Director PHA Raja Muhammad Abbas and CEO of the company (Rufi Estate) signed the agreement which was attended by the Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar, Secretary G.M. Sikandar besides senior officials of the Ministry and PHA. 
Under the agreement, the company will construct 500 flats/apartments in Karachi and will hand over the constructed flats/apartments to Pakistan Housing Authority having all the basic amenities of life. The company will invest fully in purchase of land and construction work. 
Expressing his sentiments on the occasion, the Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani would be requested to grace the ground breaking ceremony of construction of 500 flats/apartments in Karachi. He said that the Prime Minister had performed the ground breaking ceremony of construction of 2000 flats in Karachi last week.
He said that it was the first time in the history of our country that the housing sector has shown unprecedented boost and opened a lot of opportunities for the local and foreign investors. The Minister said that the government would provide all out cooperation and facilities to the prospective investors in the housing projects. 
Mr. Kakar said that under Prime Minister Housing for all programme one million housing units would be constructed throughout the country including AJK and Gilgit-Biltistan for the poor needy, government employees’, media men and general public at affordable cost.
