MILITANCY IS NOW IN “EVERY PAKISTANI” WE DON’T HAVE TO IMPORT ENEMIES
It is high time we call spade a spade and stop behaving like “Holy Cows” to face the above reality. Whoever said Delhi Doorest at least knew that the enemy was coming. Unfortunately we cannot even say that in Islamabad as the government and the media is totally mindless about the advancing enemy. Today militancy has taken birth in every Pakistani which is in the shape of revolution. However if this revolution is concluded by the Taliban and the insurgents, it will sadly take us to caves.
We didn’t have to import enemies to take us to the militant mindset. A good example is the manner Dr. Niaz Khan and I have been treated in offering a home grown economic package to the government that will make the country self reliant in economy and gain self respect. When the finance minister took over, he was very different to the other ministers whose mobiles are carried by their touts. He would answer his mobile calls and speak with lot of humility. He invited us for presentation without my requesting a third person to speak to him. At our cost we made several visits from abroad and stayed in Islamabad at our expense. Despite the fact that he shouted at us in all the presentations, he later regretted. I even judged and wrote to him that an angel was born in a devil’s house. I became his well wisher. Least did I know that the devilish system in corridor of power would soon have a hypnotic affect to take away his good qualities of humility, honesty and conscious. Some time ago he would respond to provocation but now it is total darkness. Since we have made so much expense and made a formal presentation, he is duty bound to respond. He is not even implementing what his IMF planted colleagues (to whom we made the presentation) have recommended to test the package at micro level. He now does not attend to my phones nor is giving me a reply whether he wishes to implement or not.
I have narrated the above story to highlight and prove that how we treat our fellow countrymen who wish to help the country in giving economic self reliance and self respect. Instead we have given preference to humiliation and begging whether it is Kerry/Lugar bill or IMF. When the finance minister is questioned for such preference, he feels humiliated.
I have personally requested the opposition Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan and Sh. Rashid Ahmed (who appears in so many talk shows), MQM, ANP for support to put pressure on Mr. Tarin and government. I have written to anchors like Shahid Masood, Hamid Khan, Talat Hussain, Nusrat Jawaid, Nadeem Malik and journalists Ansar Abbasi in the hope that I will get media support once again to put pressure. I have even written to the Chief Justice and Army Chief with the same intent. Every day, the politicians and media are blasting on electronic and print media to finding a home grown solution to our economic crises but would not support a solution that is lying at our door step.
The above is just one example that would make any person go crazy. Let me add to this the sugar crises, atta crises, load shedding, blasts that are not only taking human lives but destroying the lively hood of the poor businessmen. While the above is pulling the nation to a revolution that is now visible in the form of insurgency, our elected leaders and the parliament are busy with NRO. The government, finance minister and the army seem to be totally oblivious to the fact that the current insurgency may long for more than 10 years. Are we going to fight this with borrowed money? Since our inception we faced the BD system of Ayub Khan, we faced the breakup of Pakistan by Yahya Khan, we faced the gun culture of Zia Ul Haq but we are very afraid to face a small test of our economic package in a city that will lead us to make us stand on our feet.
Prime Minister Sahib, despite your restriction, you have made several bold/good decisions in national interest in the past one year. To name some is the restoration of Chief justice, re-instating Punjab government and now the decision on NRO. Therefore I will request you to take one more bold decision that will save the nation from the catastrophic revolution that will one day reach Islamabad. A military victory will not be a total victory as the insurgency will continue to bleed us to our death. Our only survival lies in the economic package as it will restore the economic plight of the common man that will reverse the revolution and Mr. Tarin is aware and has been well briefed.
We may reverse the internal militancy but we will have to face the militancy around us in the region. I am attaching a letter I have written to President Obama and regional ambassadors that carries a region solution.
